At The Bramptons we encourage the children to read as much as possible as this is key to their learning in all subjects and their future success. The children are asked to keep a reading record and any child who has read at home at least three times during the previous week is entered in the weekly Reading Raffle. We then draw out at random a winner from each class and the winning children get the opportunity to select a book to keep.
Also, all those children that are entered in the raffle are given a house point.
This approach is working well and a vast majority of our children are now reading at home at least three times a week. Here are some of our winners since the beginning of the school year.
