PE & Sport

In 2017/2018 The Bramptons participated in 12 Sports Partnership inter-school competitions. These included Cross-Country, KS2 Cricket, Hockey, Orienteering, Swimming, Year 5/6 Athletics,  and KS2 Badminton. Despite competing against much larger schools, the children always showed perseverance and good sporting behaviour no matter where they finished in the competitions.

We also competed in the Pacesetter Games against other local school. In 2017/2018 we participated in 9 Pacesetter Games competitions. The events we participated in were Tag Rugby, Years 1/2 Dodgeball, Years 3/4 Dodgeball, Years 3/4 Multi-skills, Years 5/6 Multi-skills, Girls Football, Years 3/4 Gymnastics, Years 5/6 Athletics, and Years 3/4 Multi-skills. We went through to several finals and won two of them.

During 2017/2018 91.5% of the children in KS2 took part in at least one Schools Partnership or Pacesetters Games competition and across all year groups 43% of children participated in an After School Sports Club.

In 2017/2018 sporting After School Clubs included Pacesetters Gym Club, All Stars Cricket Club, Hotsots Basketball Club and a Golf Club run by Brampton Heath Golf Club.

In 2018/2019  we have adopted the Skip to be Fit Challenge. Once a week the children take part in a challenge to increase their fitness by increasing the number of skips they can do in two minutes. We have also set up a successful Hockey Club and a very popular lunch time Yoga Club. During the year we will be introducing a Tennis Club and a Cricket Club. These are in addition to the ongoing Gym Club and Hotshots Basketball.

In 2017/2018 we were awarded the Silver School Games award and we are working to achieve the Gold Award during 2018/2019.
